My Lifetime Diet to health and Weight Control

My diet is simple, once I accepted the facts about today’s food. I eat fresh all natural or organic food 80 to 90 percent of the time and almost never indulge in convenient foods such as fast foods, process foods, can foods, sodas, etc. For almost five years I lost and maintained my weight when over 80% of my friends are overweight. Most of them have finally joined me this year and are all looking better and best of all feeling great.

My food tips

-Rice ( snacks, milk, etc.)
-Meat and Fish (all natural)
--Fruit and Fruit Juices (all natural juices without sugar or sugar substitutes)
-Vegetables and Legumes (e.g. Beans)
-Dairy Products - Milk, Cheese, etc (Only occasionally)
-Eggs and Egg Substitutes (organic Only occasionally)
--Nuts and Seeds (fist full for a snack)
-Fats and Oils ( remove )
-Herbs, Spices, Sauces (make sure there is not MSG or gluten)
-Water
-Others, Snacks, Sweets, etc (An Occasional snake that isn’t high in sugar, fats, and substitute products. Twice a month should be ok for most.

How To Follow

Removed MSG, gluten, sugar, from my diet while increasing fresh or organic veggies and fruits. I completely stopped eating fast foods; all but French fries which I still will eat on occasion followed with organic decaf green tea. I eat when I want to and how I want mostly. The only difference is that I no longer have to desire to eat foods that not longer agree with my body (the key). I snack on a fist full of trail mix, carrots, celery with peanut butter and raisin, popcorn, fruits, dark chocolate, and gluten free bars when I feel hungry. I chew my few until it a liquid. I eat salads with a variety of toppings and no dressing except oil and vinegar on occasion. I do not count calories and never have. I watch what I put in my mouth. I get on the scale each morning to spot check my weight just to see if I ate something that did not agree with me. It will usually result in 3 to 4 pound weight gain over night. I'll drink plenty of decaf organic ginger, green tea, and water if this occurs. Eat only food I know by body needs for about a week then go back my regular everyday eating. I eat most meats as long as they are all natural. I also eat a variety of fruits and veggies.

Note:
All allergies will cause you to gain or retain your weight especially if treated with many medicines on the market and eating sweets while having these problems. I stay away from wheat, dairy, and sugar when I'm sick with colds or allergy and drink plenty of warm tea with lemon.

When Did Bad Health Become The Norm

For the past three months I've been visiting forums, blogs, yahoo answer, myspace.com, an many other sites having an open dialog about the problem with how food is grown, process, prepared, eaten, and eating habits. Although most are excited to receive the information and willing to do further fact finding while others have dove in face first, some however; choose to band me from the forums in the name of spamming. I continue to discover ways to get this topic into house holds all over.

People all over are on a diet trying to loose weight, while other are engaged in loosing weight for major health reasons and a vast amount of people who think it is perfectly normal. I've recently learned that all of my child hood friends are over weight and some are having many health problems do to weight control issues. I had a conversation with my parents about the health of generations prior to them. I asked; how was the overall health of people in general? They replied,
"What health issues? People lived full lives got old and past away usually in their 80's and 90's with out suffering. People past away in their sleep very peacefully in most cases.".
What about diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity issues.
"Obesity is a new word that did not exist in the past. We did not hear about diabetes or high blood pressure until around the late 1980's. Our parents, grand parent, aunts, and uncles that past prior to 1990 did not have any health issues. Most of them took care of themselves until they past away."

I've had this discussion with many others since this discussion to find similar results. I'd like to see other have this conversation with parents and grand parents and tell the readers your results.

We are eating poorly and have forgotten the simple principles of our past which is to have your veggies every day and a balanced meal. We eat out too much and snack on junk and many during their golden years will spend most of their time on medication with tons of side effects.
